Warning signs needed at Kahekili Beach Park
Please urge Maui County to post a health safety sign at Kahekili Beach Park warning that county wastewater (sewage) from the nearby treatment plant is in the water there and poses major health risks.
I snorkeled there daily during the first two weeks of July 2017 and developed a near-fatal staph A MRSA condition on/in my back resulting in four months’ treatment and surgery and a resulting 7-inch scar across my back.
This outflow poses serious health risks for all who swim, snorkel and wade there. Please warn them.
It is our favorite Maui beach. I was shocked to read the lawsuit and learn the county has practiced deep well injection of wastewater for years knowing it would outflow into the once-pristine waters there.
