President’s policies will hurt environment, economy

“Apres moi le deluge!” (After me the deluge!), he exclaimed, and rightly so. His instant gratification, base-pleasing policies will come to fruition. Economic chaos shall ensue. The economy-is-booming-claiming herd will become silent and so their famous slogans.

The hypocrite’s quick fixes weaken clean-air standards, dismantle environment regulations, expand fossil fuel exploration.

“The war on coal, I believe is real,” Ryan Zinke, secretary of the Interior. “The scientific body is blurring the lines between science and advocacy and functioning more as a political body than a scientific body,” Andrew Wheeler, acting administrator of the EPA.

“The idea that we would put America economy at jeopardy based on scientific theory is just nonsense,” Rick Perry, secretary of Energy. “Carbon pollution is CO2, and that’s really not a pollutant: that’s a plant food. It doesn’t harm anybody except that it might include temperature increases,” Jeff Sessions, U.S. attorney general. And, nicotine is not addictive, remember?

The chorus line wouldn’t be complete without input from the top. “Global warming is a hoax, created by the Chinese.”

“The economy is booming like never before.” (Never before — a lie.) The uptrend was in place before he took office (AP fact check).

The so-called “fiscally responsible” will add trillions to the national debt (one example).

The presidency is a marathon that can’t be run at a 1,500-meters pace. Alas, the “unprincipled” only knows the path of least resistance, the one that makes rivers run crooked.
