Clues sought for the decline in whale sightings

I am not a whale researcher or a whale expert but almost every time we see a whale blow or a big splash in the ocean it inevitably is followed by several boats surrounding these intelligent creatures. Can we please consider as a probable cause for declining sightings to be the continuous harassment of this iconic giant in our waters as they try to relax, give birth and mate in their winter retreat.

Now add in the possibility of high-power sonar and it is no wonder that the number of humpback whales visiting our islands is diminishing.
