Performing arts center new crown prince of Upcountry

Among the good things that make Upcountry Maui a great place to live is the King Kekaulike Performing Arts Center, which stands out as the new crown prince of Maui’s dramatic arts.

Beyond being an outstanding facility, the heart and soul of this new venue are the members of the King Kekaulike High School drama club, whose seemingly endless pool of talent clearly shows in its stage production of the smash Broadway hit “Annie.”

With Puakenikeni Kepler, Juliet Moniz, Dylan Tassan, Kaya Greene, Spencer Birch, Stasia Morales-Middleton and Dane Osako playing key roles, the King Ke-kaulike drama club made “Annie” an absolute delight for Maui theatergoers and the King Kekaulike community of students, family and friends.

Hats off to Production Director Chris Kepler and Assistant Director Troy Lau for their incredible ability to bring such remarkable talent to the stage, and a corresponding hats off to Orchestra Director Casey Nagata, whose band of musicians performed like seasoned pros.
