The Bald-Headed Truth

POSTED:Sat, April 26, 2008 @ 2:27PM

Sabers-Bears again ... and again?

It is Game 4 of the Maui High-Baldwin baseball series this evening at 6 at Maehara Stadium.

This one is labeled the championship game of the MIL Division I tournament, but think of this as a best-of-5 series with the Sabers holding a 2-1 advantage (which is what the actual count is this season).

On the strength of their regular-season title, the Sabers have two chances to win one and gain their first MIL title since 1998 when most of the current assistant coaches were on the team.

If the Sabers win tonight, they are MIL D-I champs. If the Bears win, they force a playoff for the title on Monday at 6.

Check out the link to see how the Bears dramatically got to this point with an extra-inning win Friday night. Check out the other one for the D-II perspective, where St. Anthony and Molokai will represent the MIL at state.
