Marketing Manager Karin Sagar wants to give those in the Maui food and beverage industry a "heads up" on a new event within the festival, which she thinks has a lot of local appeal.
"On Thursday, June 9th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Guild of Sommeliers Education Foundation will host a 3-hour introductory class," says Sagar. "Targeted towards local F&B professionals, under the guidance of Master Sommeliers, the class will take attendees on a 'tour' of the great winegrowing regions of the world in enthusiastic detail."
"The emphasis is on education and fun, and the Guild intends to foster lively discussion among attendees and educators, who, as Master Sommeliers, are some of the world’s foremost experts on wine. The seminar spans the entire map of the wine world, including the United States, Bordeaux, Tuscany, Burgundy, the Rhône Valley, Australia, Germany, and more. Proceeds from the class are returned directly to the Guild of Sommeliers Education Foundation."
