Hawaii to play hoops on Maui Dec. 18

September 15, 2011 - Robert Collias
The University of Hawaii will extend the holiday hoops season on the Valley Isle for the second season in a row, it was revealed when the school unveiled its basketball schedule for the 2011-12 season on Wednesday.

Hawaii will play North Carolina A&T on Dec. 18 in Wailuku at 5 p.m. The schedule is not more specific than Wailuku, but my best guess is the venue will be War Memorial Gym, not Baldwin High School gym as both are in Wailuku. N.C. A&T finished 15-17 last season and lost in the first round of the MEAC tournament to Morgan State.

Last season, UH played a December game at the Lahaina Civic Center, which will be the center of the college hoops universe when it hosts perhaps the most loaded Maui Invitational ever Nov. 21-23.
