Back in the saddle of Blogland with Iron Chef Morimoto event on Oahu

September 26, 2011 - Carla Tracy

I’m back in the saddle in Blogland after a relaxing staycation and then hectic deadlines upon my return. So please forgive my lapse of blogging for awhile.

I should know better. Bloggers are supposed to keep it consistent, either blogging daily, weekly or whatever schedule they can keep — at least that’s what I learned at SMUG, the Social Media Users Group, which meets monthly at Maui Technology Park in Kihei.

So I’ll try and be more consistent from now on. This blog is about an exciting event coming up in Waikiki on Wednesday, Sept. 28, that will certainly be of interested to the epicureans among us. I know so many people on Maui who have dined at this restaurant and it’s surely right up there with the best of them on Oahu.

“Masaharu Morimoto, known to millions as the star of Iron Chef and Iron Chef America, celebrates the first anniversary of Morimoto Waikiki – the most sumptuous, unique and creative restaurant to debut in Waikiki in recent years – on Wednesday, September 28 with an anniversary party like none other,” states the press release.

Iron Chef Morimoto will be on hand personally as host and he’ll showcase the cuisine of Morimoto Waikiki and of course, his favorite signature cocktails.

“Iron Chef Morimoto also welcomes singer-songwriter Anuhea and her Maui-inspired blend of acoustic soul, pop and reggae in this fabulous evening. Reservations are now being accepted. Dinner reservations are available from 5 to to 8:30 p.m. Entertainment and sake toast begin at 9:30 p.m. Please call (808) 943-5900 to secure your table.”

“For everyone at Morimoto, the best is yet to come. Not only do Iron Chef Morimoto and his team have more culinary explorations in store that emphasize the rare cultural fusions of Hawaii, their plans also include expansion to new locations in Mexico City and Tribeca (New York City).
