October 8, 2011 - Robert Collias
Sitting in my corner of the press box here at Kanaiaupuni Stadium with kickoff between the Bears and Warriors about a half hour off thanks to an on-time JV game that was helped by a running clock in Baldwin's 42-6 win and wanted to pass on a couple of notes.
Kamehameha will be without starting quarterback Kalai Yap, who is out with a stomach virus. In his place will be Ryan Graham, who shared much of the QB duties with Yap when both junior were JV players two years ago. One thing about the diminutive Graham (5-7, 140), he is a tough cookie. He was also behind center for a 42-10 Warrior JV win on Baldwin's homecoming night two years ago.
I will try to update here as we go tonight — eighth-ranked Baldwin won the first meeting 41-7 on Sept. 9 and has simply been unstoppable all season, both sides of the ball.
