Stricker leads, by 3, at 11 under
January 7, 2012 - Robert Collias
Steve Stricker played the front nine in 4-under par and has vaulted into the lead at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at the Kapalua Plantation Course.
The No. 6-ranked golfer in the world, the top guy here, is at 11 under through 14 holes and leads by three strokes over Martin Laird and by four over Kevin Na, Webb Simpson, and defending champion and first-round leader Jonathan Byrd.
Chris Kirk has the day's best score of the early finishers at 7-under 66, moving from 2 over to 5 under. David Toms played by himself and teed off first after being last in the 27-man field on Friday — he finished in less than 3 hours. I will have more on him in Sunday's paper.
