MIL football schedules released, round format returns

The MIL football schedules for the conventional 11-man game and the state's first eight-man league have been released — a good reason to go out and get today's paper — and a couple of things jump out.

The round formats have returned, setting up possible playoff games for the Division I and Division II titles and state berths on Nov. 2 (D-II) and Nov. 3 (D-I), both of which would be at War Memorial Stadium. The second round slate mirrors the first round in order of games for each team.

The eight-man league will be official for the first time and will include the return of St. Anthony after a five-year absence from MIL football, Seabury Hall, Molokai and Hana. The state's first official eight-man game is set for Sept. 6 when St. Anthony and Seabury Hall tangle at War Memorial Stadium.
