| | MIL AD carousel spinning rapidlySeptember 6, 2012 - Robert ColliasWell, when it rains, it pours, I guess. When we were the first to report that Kurt Ginoza was stepping down as athletic director for Kamehameha Schools Maui, little did we know the avalanche that might follow. Several sources have confirmed that Kamehameha Kapalama alumni Kanani Souza is the interim AD at KSM — he is a former standout football player for Kapalama and Oregon State, former AD at Kapalama who retired in 2011, and he was the head coach of the 2004 D-I state football champions at Kapalama. That team was led by Maui's running back Jayson Rego, who went on to play for Hawaii. Today, we can confirm that Kawika Casco, the former Lahainaluna and University of Utah football standout, is the new AD at Maui Preparatory Academy. Also, just got off the phone with Albert Paschoal, who reconfirmed that he will be stepping down as St. Anthony's AD after the first quarter ends to concentrate on vice principal duties. Paschoal reported to us earlier this week that Coby Ross, a former All-Star player for the Trojans, is the new boys basketball coach. P.K. Higa is still waiting on final word of his interim AD status at King Kekaulike — a long, arduous process for DOE schools — and Hoku Haliniak is into her second month as AD for Molokai (previously reported here). A full story next week is in the works — there could be some more movement yet to report. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
