Graham Faught fundraiser Saturday
February 4, 2013 - Carla Tracy
We Mauians like to take care of our own. That’s why a fundraiser for Maui boy Graham Faught will be held on Saturday at all three of Beverly Gannon’s restaurants, including Hali‘imaile General Store, Joe’s Wailea, and Gannon’s A Pacific View Restaurant.
“On January 6th, Maui-born Graham Faught suffered a tragic accident while surfing, which has resulted in significant spinal-cord damage, currently limiting much of his mobility,” says friend Tim Garcia. “Longtime family friends Beverly and Joe Gannon who have known Graham since birth and consider his parents Tom and Wendy Faught family, will match all $5 donations that will come in from all three of their Maui restaurants this Saturday.”
The fundraiser is called $5 for $5. And, if you donate more, the Gannons will match what anyone gives. “So if you want to give $500 to the cause, I’ll match it,” says Beverly, who remembers Graham coming in the restaurant as a kid in the neighborhood.
In addition, Tom is a famous artist on Maui and he is having a big art sale at his studio this weekend to raise money to get Graham to the Mainland for treatment.
“We are thankful to all who help and support the $5 for $5 and if so inclined to donate more we thank you,” says Garcia. “You can follow and donate also at You Caring Website, and follow Graham on his healing journey as well as on the Facebook link on the website.”
“We are under no illusions what a long and challenging road is ahead, but it is paved with love and steadfast determination, and with all the support and prayers he is is recieving, the healing has already begun.”
