Ewaliko press conference for NLI signing Wednesday
February 6, 2013 - Robert Collias
Baldwin High School's Keelan Ewaliko will become just the second MIL athlete ever to sign an National Letter of Intent to play football for the University of Hawaii on Wednesday at The Dunes at Maui Lani clubhouse. The event is free to the public and starts at 9 a.m.
Norm Chow was here a couple weeks agfo to nail down the commitment — read the link above.
The first was Maui High School's Robert Kemfort, in 1996, when he signed with coach Fred vonAppen. Kemfort, like Ewaliko, was a state champion on the track — Kemfort in the hurdles, Ewaliko in the 200 meters.
Ewaliko just recently returned from an all-star game in California — he also took his official visit to Manoa last weekend. Here is a link to the all-star performances for Ewaliko and Baldwin teammate Abraham Reinhardt.
Reinhardt currently has an invited walk-on nod to UH, which Chow reconfirmed in the same recent visit with Ewaliko.
