July 9, 2013 - Robert Collias
The Maui Blue team nearly forced a winner-take-all finale for the title in the Hawaii Region Pony Tournament this morning but fell 4-3 to Hilo at Maehara Stadium.

Maui's Orion Miyasato-Farias continued his hot hitting with a two-run double to tie the score in the fourth and Kaipo Paschoal knocked in the go-ahead run in the fifth for Maui, but Hilo scored twice in the top of the seventh on a two-run, two-out single by Taylor Mondina.

Maui put two runners on with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but Makoa Andres struck out Paschoal and Kekoa Ostermiller to end the game with runners on second and third.
