Isagawa named to top-50 watch list by Golf World
September 2, 2013 - Robert Collias
Former Baldwin standout Cassy Isagawa has been named to Golf World magazine’s Top-50 Female Players to Watch List that was published today.
Isagawa's University of Oregon team is ranked 40th in the Golf World coaches poll.
“Cassy has worked extremely hard this summer and is ready to go for the season,” Oregon head women’s golf coach Ria Scott told the school's athletic website. “I think she has only scratched the surface on what she is capable of doing in college golf. There are thousands of college golfers out there, and it is an honor for Cassy to be recognized in an elite group of 50.”
Isagawa, a junior, has the two best season stroke averages in Oregon women's golf history, was a first team All-American for Golf Week as a freshman when she was also named second team All-American by the National Golf Coaches Association.
The former state champion for Baldwin, PGA Junior national titlist, and U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team member is also a two-time All-Pac-12 Conference selection.
The Ducks start their season Sept. 14-15, traveling to East Lansing, Mich., for the Mary Fossum Invitational.
