Restating the Obvious

POSTED:Tue, September 2, 2008 @ 4:51PM

Watchful waiting

I dunno whether this story about FDIC nearly doubling its staff that manages bank failures is positive or not.

If all the banks that fail are miniatures, no problemo. FDIC doesn't reveal which banks are on the watch list, and if there's going to be an international financial crash, it could come from something that isn't legally a bank and isn't based in the United States.

The 1929 crash was initiated by troubles in a kind of credit union that made loans to peasants in Austria.

Welcome to the global economy! Again!
