Busy, busy MIL Saturday caps off an exciting week

February 1, 2014 - Robert Collias
The winter prep season is rounding into state-tournament mode in the next couple weeks, so championships are on the line in a lot of MIL sports right now:

— The MIL Swimming and Diving Championships will hold swim finals at 1 p.m. today at Kihei Aquatic Center.

Maui High broke a four-game losing streak in dramatic fashion Thursday night.

— And a lot of important soccer going on tonight.

The Baldwin boys can clinch a state spot tonight in basketball when they host Maui High at 7, the Baldwin boys can claim the MIL soccer crown tonight at Maui High at 4, and a winner-take-all second-place playoff match between Maui High and Baldwin girls soccer teams is set for 5 at King Kekaulike Stadium.

Read about all the action in the Sunday paper before the Super Bowl and tune into The Maui News Sports Report on Monday — there's some spectacular footage from the Maui High-Lahainaluna boys basketball game that should not be missed by fans of either school.
