Burn' n Love offers discounted tickets for 2 days only
August 19, 2014 - Leah Sherman
Burn' n Love at Maui Theatre has announced that it will offer $20 tickets to Hawaii residents for its Thursday and Friday (Aug. 21 and 22) shows.
Proceeds from the specially priced tickets will be donated to Maui Food Bank's Aloha Backpack Buddies program.
Hawaii ID is required to purchase the discounted tickets (normal price begins at $60). To reserve seats, call Maui Theatre at (808) 856-7900 and be sure to mention “Maui Food Bank.”
The Aloha Backpack Buddies program provides elementary-school children who are on free and reduced meal programs at their school to receive a pre-filled backpack on Fridays containing six meals they take home for the weekend. The program was launched in September 2012 and now serves nine Maui County schools, including four on Molokai, according to a news release from Maui Theatre.
I saw Burn' n Love earlier this year after encountering start Darren Lee at a New Year's Eve event. It is a great show and a fun change from the usual luau-type productions. You can read my review via the link at right.
In my opinion, the regular-priced tickets are wee bit overpriced. This $20 ticket deal offers a chance for people to see it at a very reasonable price while helping out others in our community.
