Robert Collias![]() sports reporter Robert Collias has been covering Valley Isle and 50th state sports since 1989. He has covered Pro Bowls, Hula Bowls, Maui Invitationals, the Maui Stingrays, Mercedes-Benz Championships, Maui Interscholastic League and Little League — and everything in between — at The Maui News since 1990. He has worked in Guam, where he covered the 1988 Olympics, Eugene, Ore., Portland, Ore., Honolulu, and Wailuku in a career that began in college in 1985.
