Pacific Memories and Visions

Ray Tsuchiyama

Ray Tsuchiyama

Ray Tsuchiyama's family arrived on Maui in the early 1900s. His late father was a member of the Maui High Class of '37, and his grandparents' ashes are in an urn at a Wailuku Buddhist temple. After 20 years in Japan, he is a chronicler of his arrival on Maui, and his re-engagement with Maui society and history, and also presenting visions of a future Maui. Earlier this year the Honolulu Star-Advertiser published his Op-Ed on Maui and Hawai'i political history. He is on the Board of the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council and the Pacific Hawaii District Export Council.
