People who ride motorcycles don’t strike me as the kind to get starstruck, but all bets were off as one of the biggest names in the motorcycle world came to town this past weekend.

Living in Hawaii we may not see the leaves change color or don flannel shirts this time of year, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that fall is here, especially with all the Halloween-inspired events going on around town.

As if there weren’t already enough reasons to get out and party, Hard Rock Cafe just added another one — to support a worthy cause.

It took me a while to get on the “staycation” bandwagon, but I’ve finally jumped on. That final push came this weekend after attending the opening celebration for the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort &?Spa’s latest culinary venture, ‘Umalu Restaurant.

We may be in the midst of an economic meltdown, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at the records for this year’s Maui County Fair. To be exact, total attendance was reported at 96,083, up by about 2,000 from the 2007 fair turnout of 94,054.
