SAN JOSE, Calif. – Kiffmann’s Maui Elite Taekwondo team won a total of 28 medals at the 2007 U.S. National Senior and Junior Taekwondo Championship last week.
The Kiffmann team won 16 gold, five silver and seven bronze medals.Kiffmann black belt Aisha Jones missed a chance to compete at the U.S. team trials, falling only a point short of qualifying.
She won a gold and bronze medal at the tournament.
Other black-belt medalists were: Angelo Delosso-Flocco (2 gold), Kavyka Souza (gold, bronze), Kathryn Kiffmann (gold), Imelda Castro (gold), Kellen Bean (silver), Miles Kiffmann (2 bronze), Elena Jones (bronze), Andrea Thyne (bronze) and Ciara Thyne (bronze).
Color-belt medalists were: Peter Nelson (2 gold, silver), Joan Cho (2 gold), Jane Cho (2 gold), Jada McGuire (2 gold), Ashley Rodriguez (2 gold), Cammy Henry (silver), Alicia Schmidthans (silver) and Jordan Soma (silver).
The Kiffmann team will next compete at the Maui International Taekwondo Championship, set for Oct. 13 and 14 at War Memorial Gym.
The meet is hosted by Kiffmann Taekwondo.
