The Lanai Landfill will also be closed today, with Lanai residential trash pickup normally scheduled for Friday rescheduled for Saturday.

For today, residential trash collection and landfill hours in the rest of the county will be as normally scheduled.

County pools and the Waiehu Municipal Golf Course will be open through the holiday weekend, and ocean safety officers will be on duty at county beach parks.

On Kuhio Day Wednesday, residential trash pickups, the Central Maui Landfill, county pools, ocean safety officers and the Waiehu Golf Course will operate on a normal schedule.

The Lanai, Molokai and Hana landfills will be closed for the Kuhio Day holiday.

All public schools will remain on spring break through March 28. The Makawao Public Library, which is normally closed on Fridays, will also be closed Saturday for the holiday. The Kahului, Kihei and Lahaina libraries will be closed Friday but will open on Saturday.

On Molokai, the Real Property Tax office is closed due to staff illness, but is expected to reopen Thursday.

The Olowalu Convenience and Recycling Center in West Maui remains closed for a reconstruction project.
