• AT SCHOOL: Shooting Club president, Interact, Key Club, varsity rifle team captain, varsity tennis, honor roll.
• OFF CAMPUS: Boy Scouts of America, including Order of the Arrow vice sectional chief, Eagle Scout and area director for Boy Scout summer camp; volunteers for Special Olympics, Cop on Top.
• BEYOND HIGH SCHOOL: Plans to go to the University of Hawaii for one year and then transfer to the Missouri University of Science and Technology (part of the University of Missouri System) to get a degree in explosive engineering.
• WHO IS YOUR PERSONAL HERO AND WHY? “My dad is my personal hero. All my life he has inspired me to do well and be true to myself. He has impressed upon me the importance of values and good morals. He has instilled in me the importance of honesty; it may not be well received by some, but your beliefs and your thoughts should be your own. He taught me how to define my character as my own and to not necessarily be a follower but be an understanding leader; and that I should always set a good example.”

The students in this weekly feature are selected by officials at their respective high schools. “Student Spotlight” recognizes students of good character who are involved in school or community activities such as athletics, clubs, student government and volunteer work.
