UH Center at MCC honors candidates

WAILUKU — The University of Hawaii Center at Maui Community College honored 97 candidates for degrees Friday night in ceremonies held in the Baldwin High School auditorium.
The UH Center provides programs for professional certification, bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees through links with UH Manoa, UH Hilo and UH West Oahu.
Maui Community College will hold its graduation service at 1 p.m. Sunday at Castle Theater, Maui Arts & Cultural Center. There are 444 MCC students eligible to receive degrees. C. Manu Kaiama, director of the Kaulele Project at UH Manoa, will be the speaker.
Five other UH campuses conducted commencement services Friday: Leeward Community College, UH Manoa School of Travel Industry Management, Kapiolani Community College, Kauai Community College, and Hawaii Community College.
Other UH campuses holding commencement services this weekend are:
• Today — UH Hilo, 9 a.m., Edith Kanakaole Multipurpose Stadium; UH West Oahu, 9 a.m., Tuthill Courtyard; UH Manoa School of Nursing & Dental Hygiene, 10 a.m., Kennedy Theatre; Windward Community College, 1 p.m., Paliku Theatre; UH Manoa Burns School of Medicine, 3:30 p.m., Kennedy Theatre; UH Center-West Hawaii, 4 p.m., King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel; UH Manoa College of Engineering, 5 p.m. Orvis Auditorium.
• Sunday — UH Manoa, baccalaureate degrees, 9 a.m., Stan Sheriff Center; UH Manoa, advanced degrees, 3 p.m., Stan Sheriff Center.
• Monday — UH Manoa Richardson School of Law, 5 p.m, Andrews Amphitheater; UH Army ROTC commissioning, 6 p.m., Kennedy Theatre.
• Wednesday — UH Air Force ROTC commissioning, 10 a.m., Foster’s Point, Hickam Air Force Base.
