STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Jasmine Davis

• PERSONAL: Age 17; daughter of Vernon and Joy Davis of Kahului; enjoys laughing, going to sporting events and spending time with family and friends.

• AT SCHOOL: Graduation Committee, Aloha Club, SCHWA announcements crew, Principal’s List; swimming and diving, water polo and bowling teams.

• OFF CAMPUS: Kahului Union Church youth group, Lokelani 4-H Club, Hula Halau O Keaunui, Zenshin Daiko.

• BEYOND HIGH SCHOOL: Will attend Seattle University this fall to major in criminal justice with a forensic science specialization; hopes to become a crime-scene investigator and to return to Hawaii.

• WHO IS YOUR PERSONAL HERO AND WHY? “My personal hero is my mom. She has influenced me my whole life and has helped to mold me into the person I am today. Through her, I have gained faith, become an involved member of society and learned the importance of my education. Although we may not see eye to eye a lot of the time, and there are certain things we will never be able to understand about each other, my mom will always be someone I look up to.”
