Catch and release

Kula resident Phil Fleck Sr. and his sons, Phil and Mason, teamed up to run down some piglets last week.

The trio were driving by a Kula pasture Thursday when they noticed a cluster of piglets huddled near Kula Highway.

The trio managed to catch two of the critters, which they said they planned to release in a safer spot away from the road, in the forest above their home.

They said the piglets were likely orphans and speculated the mother may have been hit by a car.
