Bank of Hawaii presents partial pledge for MEO
WAILUKU - During Maui Economic Opportunity Inc.'s annual meeting last week to install new board officers, Al Landon, chairman of Bank of Hawaii, presented the first installment of a $100,000 pledge from the Bank of Hawaii Foundation to MEO's Transportation Center. He noted that it is the bank's largest ever grant to a Neighbor Islands organization.
The check for $25,000 was presented to MEO Executive Director Sandy Baz and County Council Chairman Riki Hokama, the outgoing board president.
Incoming MEO President Grant Chun said he was looking forward to the challenges that were ahead for him and hopes to get moving on the transportation center.
Kathy Louis of Hale Mahaolu was installed as MEO vice president, and Scott Sakakihara of Central Pacific Bank as MEO secretary/treasurer.
