Jose Pajar of Kihei shares a kiss with his daughter, Makena Grace Pajar, 2, while she plays on the tire swing at Kalama Park on Thursday morning. Pajar said he likes to spend as much time as possible with his daughter when he is not working and said fatherhood is “amazing.” He also said they are looking forward to having nearby playground equipment rebuilt after it was destroyed in a recent fire. “So many parents come here, and they rely on this playground,” he said.
