Imua receives $58,500 in grants
WAILUKU - Imua Family Services has been awarded three grants totaling $58,500 for Imua projects:
* Maui United Way released more than $46,000 for Imua's Early Childhood Development Program Demonstration project, providing therapeutic services for children ages 3 through 5 with developmental delays.
* The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation gave $10,000 to support Camp Imua, the annual weeklong camping experience allowing youngsters with special needs to explore the outdoors and engage in summer fun activities.
* The Kent and Polli Smith Fund provided $2,500 through the Hawaii Community Foundation for Camp Imua. More than $150,000 of in-kind donations support the camp, along with $50,000 needed to offset costs associated with the camp, Imua said.
The agency provides therapeutic intervention services to children with developmental delays through age 5.
