Join former U.S. Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize-winner William S. Merwin and National Book Award-winning storyteller Maxine Hong Kingston during a public conversation titled "Finding Words for Our Times" at 7 p.m. at the Historic Iao Theater in Wailuku. TANGOFEST MAUI
Dance fever returns to the island as Love of Tango presents "Inspiration Del Tango" at 7:30 p.m. at the Maui Arts &?Cultural Center's Castle Theater. The popular exhibit is the highlight of the fifth international Tangofest Maui, featuring world-renowned tango artists Natalia Hills and Jorge Torres (stars of "Forever Tango"), tango legend Facundo Posadas from Buenos Aires, Lizelot de Stigter from Europe, Bruce and Yoko Wee, Gawain Bantle, Rita O'Connor and other guests. MAUI AIDS FOUNDATION BENEFIT PARTY
Both Sides Now will host Priscilla's Ship Wreck Party, to benefit the Maui AIDS Foundation, from 2 to 9 p.m. at the oceanfront Sugarman Estate in Makena. Tickets are $50 at the door, which includes food and dancing. Visitors to Maui may bring their room key for a $25 ticket. There is no parking at the venue; a free shuttle will transport guests from The Shops at Wailea (at the east wing, near Rolex) to the venue. Valid photo identification is required.
