WAILUKU - Deborah Peterson has been named director of advancement at Imua Family Services.
She has more than 21 years of fundraising experience and has helped guide other Maui fundraising efforts, including the Maui Arts & Cultural Center and Maui Family YMCA capital campaigns and the University of Hawaii Foundation at Maui Community College development program.
Her resume includes 13 years developing and directing startup foundations for two California community colleges. She hails from Palo Alto, Calif., and received her bachelor's degree in business from San Jose University.
Peterson vacationed on Maui for a decade before moving to the island in 2001 to accept the position at the University of Hawaii Foundation.
