KAHULUI - Applications are being accepted for the Maui County Fair Special Day for people with physical and mental disabilities on Oct. 3.
Transportation to the War Memorial Complex, rides, games, entertainment and lunch are offered free to those attending the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The deadline to sign up for the Special Fair is Sept. 2. "Special guests" are permitted to have one assistant to attend and must register as well. No one is allowed to participate in the Special Fair Day without a pass.
Special Fair Day applications are available at Hale Mahaolu, 200 Hina Ave., and at the County Fair Trailer in the War Memorial Gym parking lot. Students with physical or mental disabilities may obtain applications from their schools.
Maui is the only island to host a fair day for people with disabilities. The event is sponsored by the Maui County Fair Association and Hale Mahaolu, with donations from businesses and community organizations.
