With the south shore rising, Kihei firefighter Clement Enomoto catches an Ukumehame ride with his dog, Koa, on Thursday morning. Enomoto said his canine pal was an orphan that he rescued while stationed on Molokai. The National Weather Service posted a high-surf advisory for the south-facing shores of all islands through Sunday. The waves were generated by a tropical cyclone sweeping the ocean off New Zealand late last week.
