China Bowl Asian Cuisine is the newer and more casual sister restaurant of China Boat (above), and it's located in a convenient spot on Honoapiilani Highway in Kaanapali.
"We opened two years ago in September in the Fairway Shops," says Manager Kevin Shao, who is the brother of owner Angela Tay. "There is plenty of parking and we're easy to find."
The locals who work in the resort area make it a regular pit stop for its fast and friendly service. You simply place your orders at the walk-up counter and then relax while you wait on comfortable chairs in the air-conditioned dining room. Visitors and those not working often like to sip a beer while they wait for their to-go orders.

"Every day we have lunch specials that include fried rice, steamed white or brown rice or chow mein," says Kevin, from Shanghai. "Everything here is made to order. We feature a Mandarin menu with some Sichuan dishes. But normally our customers request spicy or not."
Some popular appetizers include ribs with salt and pepper, pot stickers, young green soy beans and minced chicken in lettuce wraps. There are plenty of satisfying soups, too, which take the menu out of the Chinese realm. Indulge in saimin, teriyaki chicken ramen, and pork chop udon.
Regulars can't get enough of the orange chicken, Mongolian beef, volcano shrimp, and fish in black bean sauce. Light eaters will appreciate the Chinese salads topped with your choice of chicken, calamari or shrimp. And, the keiki may enjoy knee-high fare such as teriyaki chicken and pork chops that include rice and soft drink. There is a liquor license and a catering menu with half and full pans.
