KAHULUI - Chentelle Lee Kehaulani Reyes and Benjamin-Jacob Malahininuiokalani Rowland were married on Aug. 16, 2008, at Lanakila Church in Kahului.

The ceremony was performed by the church's associate pastor, the Rev. Hyland Chang.

The bride is the daughter of Bill Kahalekai of Wailuku and Keone Reyes Duarte of Kihei. She graduated from the Kamehameha Schools in 2001, then earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Chaminade University in 2005.

The groom is the son of Daniel James Rowland III of Wailuku and the late Theresa Rowland. He graduated from Baldwin High School in 2000.

The maid of honor and the best man have been friends of the bride and groom, respectively, for nearly 20 years.

The maid of honor was Kalena Eaton, and the bridesmaids were Sierra Duarte (sister of the bride), Brandi Ferguson, Kaniau Kai'anui and Nicole Alatasi.

The best man was Salter Kekona. The groomsmen were Kory Kahalekai (brother of the bride), Michael Rieta, Hana Kaili and David Bailey.

The flower girl was Danesa Rowland, niece of the groom, and the ring bearers were Lamakuokana'auao Kahalekai, nephew of the bride, and Ka'imi'ikeku'oko'a Kahalekai, a brother of the bride.

The reception was held at the Kihei Community Center; about 550 people attended.

The newlyweds live in Kihei.
