Part of South Kihei Road to close a week

KIHEI - Northbound traffic on South Kihei Road will be diverted beginning Oct. 15 while a lane is closed for sewer line repairs and manhole upgrades, according to contractor Insituform Technologies Inc.

The project will be done between Keonekai Road and the Maui Banyan driveway on South Kihei Road. Northbound traffic will run through a middle-turn lane, and beach-side parking on the street will be blocked off throughout the duration of the project.

Motorists should exercise additional caution in the area and observe all signs and traffic control devices.

Work is scheduled for completion on Oct. 21.
