Walk-in voting begins Tuesday at 3 sites

WAILUKU - Walk-in absentee voting for the Nov. 4 general election/county special election will begin Tuesday at three polling sites in Maui County, the County Clerk's Office has announced.

Absentee voting sites and hours are:

* Wailuku, Office of the County Clerk, seventh floor, Kalana O Maui Building; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Oct. 25 and Oct. 27-Nov. 1.

* West Maui, Lahaina Civic Center social hall; 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday- Friday and Oct. 27-30; 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 25, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

* Molokai, Mitchell Pauole Center, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesday-Friday and Oct. 27-30; 8 a.m.-noon Oct. 25; 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 31.

In Maui County, voters will choose candidates for president, the 2nd Congressional District, state legislative seats, County Council seats, Office of Hawaiian Affairs and Board of Education Neighbor Island seats.

Voters also are asked if there should a constitutional convention and if the age for governor and lieutenant governor should be lowered to 25.

Ballots for all of the districts will be available at the West Maui and Wailuku absentee polling sites.

At the Molokai site, only ballots for the 6th Senate District will be available.

Voters must have a photo identification when they go to the polling site. For more information, call the county Elections Division at 270-7749.
