Pine Lasses win in five games

OLINDA - The Lanai High School girls volleyball team defeated St. Anthony in five sets during the first round of the Maui Interscholastic League Division II tournament on Wednesday at Erdman Athletic Center.

The Pine Lasses won 25-21, 13-25, 12-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Kawehi Romero led the Trojans with 34 kills and three aces, while Amara Kunishi contributed 66 assists. Desiree Borges had eight kills and two blocks, and Nicole Bundy had 11 kills and three aces.

Lanai faces Molokai today at 5 p.m. at King Kekaulike.
