PORTLAND, Ore. - Katie Murray and Sean Hardesty, both born and raised in Kula and now living in Portland, Ore., have announced their engagement.
The wedding is planned for July at the bride's late grandparents' home in Spreckelsville with a reception following at Maui Country Club.
The bride, the daughter of Shep and Abbie Murray, is a 2002 graduate of St. Anthony Junior Senior High school. She earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Portland University in 2007 and serves as a nurse at Providence Hospital.

The groom, the son of Lonnie and Sue Hardesty, also graduated from St. Anthony in 2002. He earned a bachelor of science degree in health sciences from Portland University in 2006 and is a toxicologist at Legacy Hospital.
