LAHAINA - Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino will meet fans and sign autographs from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lahaina Cannery Mall.
Victorino, a 1999 graduate of St. Anthony High School, set a Phillies record with 13 RBIs this postseason, helping the team win the World Series. The first Mauian to play on a Series champion, he drove in two runs in the fifth and final game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The first 300 youths at Wednesday's event, which is taking place in conjunction with the opening of a Hawaiian Island Creations surf shop at the mall, will receive an autographed photo.
Victorino won a National League Gold Glove this year, and batted .293 in the regular season. He was sixth in the league in stolen bases with 36, and fifth in triples with eight. He had 14 home runs, 58 RBIs, 102 runs, 30 doubles and 167 hits, all career bests. His hit total was the second-best on the team.
