Lahaina Galleries is mixing music and art at its location in the Shops at Wailea. Renowned local plein air artist Ronaldo Macedo and Maui Pops Orchestra Chairman Bob Dant have teamed up to honor Pops Conductor Stuart Chafez. Local trees are the vessels of imagination for sculptor Mike O'Reilly. O'Reilly's work - hand-turned vessels made from local trees that are detailed with gold leaf, semiprecious stones and airbrush painting - is on display at Maui Hands Gallery in Paia every Saturday in November from 4 to 6:30 p.m. O'Reilly grew in Northern California among the redwoods of Humboldt County and moved to Maui in 1984. "These pieces are different from what you normally see and a visit to his show is well worth the time," said Panna Speas, owner of Maui Hands Galleries. Also, local multimedia artist Ipo Kudlich is featured at Maui Hands Gallery in Lahaina from 3 to 7 p.m. Fridays this month. Her weavings and masks draw from her island roots; Kudlich was born on Kauai and moved to Maui in 1964.
