Maui group to join national protest

WAILUKU - A Maui group in support of the gay, lesbian and transgender community will join a national protest over California's Proposition 8 and other amendments to state constitutions approved in the Nov. 4 general election.

The Maui protest will be held at 8:30 a.m. today in front of the State Office Building in Wailuku. It will coincide with similar demonstrations planned across the Mainland, according to jointheimpact.wetpaint.com.
