Tokyo ice carver Hideo Fujiyama draws a crowd at Lahaina Cannery Mall on Saturday afternoon while creating a pair of kissing fish out of two blocks of ice. Fujiyama and two other ice sculptors from Japan were staging an ice-carving exhibition Saturday as a prelude to a competition today at the mall. The competition from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will feature seven ice carvers, including Fujiyama, and offers a $1,000 prize to the top piece of chilled art.
