Victorino receives warm welcome home

FIRST PHOTO: Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino, a 1999 graduate of St. Anthony High School, talks about the value of finishing school and taking advantage of opportunities to leave Maui and experience new things Wednesday while speaking at the Lahaina Cannery Mall. Victorino appeared as part of grand opening festivities for the surf shop Hawaiian Island Creations. More than 500 people lined up for autographs from the Gold Glove winner who was a key contributer to the Phillies' World Series championship team. On Saturday, Victorino will host a golf tournament to benefit the Alzheimer's Association at the Makena North Course.

SECOND PHOTO: Wailuku's Dale Fujiyama shakes hands with Victorino at Wednesday's autograph session at HIC. Fujiyama said his son used to be in the same Cub Scout pack as Victorino.

THIRD PHOTO: Princess Nahienaena student Kamalei Watson, 7, poses with his Victorino bobblehead after it was autographed Wednesday. Victorino sent Watson's Lahaina Little League team the dolls during their season.
