FIRST PHOTO: The Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao is a beehive of activity Tuesday as artists, board members and staffers prepare for Saturday's "Hui Holidays at Kaluanui." Decorating the historic facility's Christmas tree are Cindy Edgerle (from left), Marcy Lynn, Anita Greenman and Mary Gandy.

SECOND PHOTO: Down in the ceramics studio, Olinda potter Jeff Johnson paints glaze on a few of his pieces, while Fred Janvrin and Deb Zaleski (right) work on their own projects.

THIRD PHOTO: The annual ceramics sale features artists' premium works as well as "seconds," pieces that are sold at discounted prices. A $10 sushi platter (left) is one of the seconds that will be available. Admission is free to the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other merchandise featured will be Hui Press calendars, arts, crafts, and fresh, handmade wreaths and garlands.
