LAS VEGAS - Marla Sugai and Guy "Pomai" Cockett were married Nov. 30, 2008, at the Special Memory Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.
The bride is the daughter of Napua Sugai of Lihue and Joseph Sugai of Anahola, Kauai. She is a graduate of Kauai High School and the University of Northern Colorado, where she earned a bachelor's degree. The bride is a service representative.
The groom is the son of Winifred and Gordon Cockett Sr. of Wailuku. He is a graduate of Baldwin High School and a heavy-machine operator.

The bridal party included matron of honor Maile Masada, sister of the bride; bridesmaid Ramona Cockett, sister of the groom; and junior bridesmaid Kimiko Kitagawa-Cockett, niece of the groom.
The groom's party included best man Mason Cockett, nephew of the groom, and groomsman Edward "Alika" Apo, cousin of the groom.
Sisters of the bride, Jaime and Joeddy Sugai, participated in the ceremony by carrying the unity candles down the aisle.
A reception was held at the California Hotel and Casino, with entertainment by Hana's Danny Estocado.
The couple resides in Wailuku.
