KAANAPALI - Ashlee Samis and Paul Tatum were married on Feb. 14, 2009, at The Royal Lahaina Resort in a ceremony performed by friends Omar Medeiros and Jackie Smelser.
The couple grew up in the Santa Cruz area of California and both attended Aptos High School.
The bride is the daughter of Kirk and Michelle Samis of Aptos and has lived on Maui for the last eight years. She holds a bachelor of arts in political science from UCLA and is a licensed massage therapist, currently employed at the Hyatt Spa Moana.

The groom is the son of Tom Tatum and Linden McNeilly of Watsonville, Calif., and Elizabeth Tatum, also of Watsonville, and has lived on Maui for the past two years. He earned a bachelor of arts in philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley, and works for the Hyatt Maui Resort and Spa, and as a freelance illustrator.
The bridal party included flower ladies Susan Woods, Tirzah Shiya and Mary Katharine Daniels, all friends of the bride, and flower girl Sophia Tatum-McNeilly, the groom's sister.
The groomsmen were Phillip Tatum and Ian McNeilly, the groom's brothers; Kyle Samis, the bride's brother; and Matt McGinty, friend of the groom.
The couple resides in Lahaina.
