Rep. Souki pushes ‘spy cameras’ again

April 5, 2009
The Maui News

Big Brother Rep. Joe Souki and his pals have introduced a new bill, HB 145, to legalize traffic-light cameras promoted as a way to cut down the number of red-light runners. These spy cameras are more about revenue than safety.

Some research indicates they may increase rear-end collisions as drivers slam on their brakes. They do make a lot of money for the private companies that operate them - as much as $5,000 a month per camera.

We would think that the people in the Capitol might have more important things to worry about such as jobs, housing, the schools, etc.

Go to photoradarscam.com to see what other states think of this bad idea.
